PASO ROBLES CALIFORNIA – CHARMING WESTERN TOWN

Paso Robles, meaning Oak Pass in Spanish, is world famous for its wine industry and is home to dozens of notable wineries. The town has a rich history rooted in agriculture and still maintains a unique feeling of an old western town with a friendly atmosphere and cultural opportunities.  Additionally, this laid back, charming town is only a 6-mile drive west to the Pacific Ocean and a 30-minute drive south to San Luis Obispo.

Paso is home to its own municipal airport that can accommodate large jets and visitors. The Estrella Warbird Museum is located there and is dedicated to the preservation of old military aircraft. Besides enjoying over 40,000 vineyard acres and over 200 wine tasting rooms, in summer visitors can experience the annual Mid-State County Fair. The fair offers a variety of famous music talents, baking, eating, and farm animal contests guaranteed to please all age groups. Paso Robles boasts culture and is home to many artists which include: open studio tours, boutiques, restaurants, and historical sites like the Mission San Miguel. Paso is a city with a population of 31,000 with its own police and fire departments, public schools and city government.

Lake Nacimiento recreational area is one of two amazing lakes located twenty-five miles from Paso Robles. If you are a boater, expect to take all day to explore this 5,370-surface acre lake. There are miles of waterways, countless inlets and coves, open bays, and a long winding river to water ski or Jet Ski through. Do you like to fish? Fishermen will appreciate that the lake is stocked with: White Bass, Catfish, Crappie, and Bluegill. For those wishing to live on the lake, there are numerous lakefront and hillside homes surrounding the area.

MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE

The summer months exhibit warmer temperatures than other regions of the California Central Coast. Yet the summer nights are amazing according to the locals, which are conducive to comfortable outdoor entertainment. The warm days and cooler nights are perfect for growing wine grapes that translate into a fine glass of wine. Seasonal changes in winter welcome in cooler days and some rain.
